Summary: | The Brewers have until Thursday to reach a deal with [Geoff Jenkins] or face the likelihood of talks breaking off. Jenkins has given the club a deadline of that day, when exhibition season begins, to reach a deal. Seven to go: The Brewers have seven unsigned players for 2004: centerfielder Scott Podsednik, first baseman Lyle Overbay, infielder- outfielder Keith Ginter, left-handers Wayne Franklin, Doug Davis and Chris Capuano, and infielder Billy Hall. The Brewers' plan for [Matt Ford] this year is to send him to Class AA Huntsville so he can pitch in the starting rotation. Ford was a starting pitcher in Toronto's system before the Brewers selected him and put him in their bullpen. |
