Summary: | "The people of St. Francis used to wave at us when we drove by," St. Francis Police Officer Dimitri Kamolov said. "That isn't happening any more. Now they are looking at us in a different way." St. Francis Police Chief James Burgess said the officer involved in the shooting was a seven-year veteran of the department and would be on mandatory administrative leave until the district attorney's office, Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department and St. Francis police had completed their investigations. The shop's foreman, Scott Krueger, 35, said this was done "to give workers peace of mind." Krueger said that when workers were told police would be staking out the area Thursday nights, no one expected that a shooting would occur. |
