Tosches, who's best known for his biography of Dean Martin, "Dino: Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams," writes dialogue that crackles. Screenwriters can lift blocks of this visceral stuff intact. His fast-paced plot and menagerie of fascinating, evil characters are also screen-ready.
