Summary:Ashtabula County Auditor Sandra O'Brien held a small lead over incumbent state Treasurer Jennette Bradley in the GOP primary Tuesday -- an indication of how powerful the party's conservative wing has become. "There's no question tonight is a winning night for social conservatives with Ken Blackwell leading the ticket," said Mary Anne Sharkey, [Bradley] campaign spokeswoman. She called the Bradley- O'Brien race too close to call. [Betty Montgomery] will go up against state Sen. Marc Dann, D-Liberty Twp., a vocal critic of the financial scandal at the state Bureau of Workers' Compensation. Dann fended off a primary challenge by political newcomer Subodh Chandra, the former Cleveland law director. Dann, who has $142,040 in his campaign war chest, beat Chandra 74.3 percent to 25.7 percent with 67 percent of the precincts reporting.
