Summary:The referendum would be in two parts: establish an ambulance tax rate in the Saybrook/Arrowsmith and Octavia fire protection districts and contract for ambulance service with the Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association, which already serves the area. Circuit Clerk Kamalen Johnson and State's Attorney Tony Lee, both of Paxton, and Coroner Doug Wallace of rural Loda are up for re- election next year, as are six board members. All incumbents except [Ernest Brown] have take out nominating petitions to run in the March primary. The Saybrook Homemakers Club is sponsoring an outdoor Christmas decorating contest for residents of Saybrook and Cheneys Grove Township. Entry deadline is Dec. 10, and there is no entry fee. Judging will be Dec. 15.
