Summary:SIX YEARS ago, Nottingham's win here over Gloucester on the final League Saturday of the season deprived the visitors of the championship. Gloucester helped erase that dreadful memory yesterday, but few will be talking about this game in the year 2002. Gloucester, struggling to avoid joining Nottingham in the Second Division next season, made hard work of victory. Their Pilkington Cup quarter-final opponents, Wasps, will not be quaking in their boots. After an early exchange of penalties by Hodgkinson and Kimber, Gloucester scored their opening try five minutes before the interval. The Nottingham wing, Smallwood, failed to find touch and his opposite number, Holford, flipped a pass to the No 8, Raymond, who squeezed home in the corner.
