Summary: | In a one-to-one match with John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate, Mr [George W. Bush] lags by seven points. Asked who they would vote for if the election were held today, 51 per cent choose Mr Kerry against 44 per cent for Mr Bush. A similar poll in March showed Mr Kerry ahead by a 49-46 per cent margin. In Ohio, where a battle is raging for its 20 electoral votes, Mr Kerry and Mr Bush were virtually tied. But a majority of respondents - 55 per cent - said they disapproved of Mr Bush's handling of the economy, with 38 per cent strongly disapproving. |
