Summary: | Mr [John Kerry] also dismissed rumours circulating about his personal life - including allegations that surfaced this week about an extramarital relationship. "There is nothing to report, nothing to talk about. There's nothing there. There's no story," Mr Kerry said on the programme. Asked about a photograph showing him sitting near actress Jane Fonda at an antiwar rally in 1970, Mr Kerry said he considered his war protests a measure of his character. On Monday, NewsMax.com, a conservative website, ran the photograph of Mr Kerry with Ms Fonda. By yesterday, the photo had appeared in many national newspapers and on numerous internet sites. The Republican attacks on Mr Kerry have kicked in earlier than usual in the election season, reflecting the concerns of Mr [George W. Bush]'s re-election team about the president's sagging public approval ratings and signs that Democrats are uniting strongly behind Mr Kerry. |
