Summary:Dave Gilman: Canoe-kayak, K-1 1,000 meters, 1976 (semis), K-2 500 meters, 1980 (U.S. did not compete), K-4 1000 meters, 1984 (repechage), K-2, K-4 1,000 meters alternate 1988 (did not compete), luge, singles, 1984 (17th). Shannon Miller will have a tougher task to get into the 2000 Olympic trials than simply proving her fitness. Now, she and other female gymnasts petitioning into the trials must do routines on all four events before a panel of judges. Their scores must be as good as the 12th-place finisher from the final day of the recent U.S. nationals. The top 12 automatically advanced to the trials.
