Summary:Set to score 204 runs off 20 overs to maintain their challenge for the title, Leicestershire achieved it with five balls to spare. The home side's intention of going for the runs was made clear from the opening over, sent down by Devon Malcolm, which was bludgeoned for 16 runs by Vince Wells. From that moment the chase was on and, despite a flurry of wickets in mid-innings, Leicestershire were relentless in their pursuit with Lewis leading the way. Wells and Darren Maddy put on 60 for the first wicket in six overs before Maddy was run out and Phil Simmons came in to join Wells in another hard-hitting partnership. But when both went in the space of two overs, Wells for 58 off 33 balls, it seemed that Leicestershire's hopes of victory had gone. Lewis, however, would have none of it.
