- FALLEN: Denzel Washington gives an intelligent performance in this ludicrous supernatural thriller about a veteran homicide detective forced to deal with a mysterious evil spirit. The film's weakness lies in Cameron's failure to develop the characters surrounding the couple (Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) beyond mere caricatures of class.
