The residents of Ottawa need to understand that the additional corridor proposed by the consultants will do no such thing. The traffic studies conducted in phase one of the planning process assumed that trucks would be free to choose between the Macdonald-Cartier bridge with King Edward Avenue and any new bridge constructed, valuing those corridors closer to downtown by a higher diversion potential.
