Summary: | Artist Wallis Kendal and sculptor Sandra Bromley spent the better part of the past five years creating the work, which is about the size and shape of a prison cell and is covered with deactivated or seized rifles, machine guns, grenades, pistols and knives imported from several countries and police forces around the world. Because of failed funding promises and the high cost of materials in Germany, the exhibit will likely lose some of its power, Kendal said recently. "There were promises that were made or things that were going to be done that have shorted us definitely," he said, estimating the shortfall is around $150,000 "for what we really needed for this thing." |
