Summary:Craig Howard and Taylor Beard took out the major awards at the Sandhurst Cricket Club presentation night. Captain-coach Howard was crowned club champion and he took out the Dragons' first XI batting and bowling awards. Beard enjoyed a fine first season with the club and he won the Noel Turner Memorial best and fairest award after he polled one more vote than Howard. Another highlight of the night was the presentation of life membership to Alex Winfield. Winfield has been a member at Sandhurst since 1994, when he joined the under-14s, and played his 200th senior match this season. Winfield has been a regular member of the Dragons' committee, including a stint as secretary, and has been second XI captain. The Dragons also used the presentation night to honour their third XI premiership team. Sandhurst Cricket Club awards: Club Champion - Craig Howard First XI: Best and fairest (Noel Turner Memorial Award) - Taylor Beard. Batting average - Craig Howard (426 runs at 38.73). Bowling average - Craig Howard (29 wickets at 15.07). Second XI: Best and fairest (Daryl Watts Award) - Alex Winfield. Batting average - Alex Winfield (249 runs at 49.8). Bowling average - Ben Yarwood (19 wickets at 18.79). Third XI (Premiers): Best and fairest (Dr Bernard Gretton-Watson Award) - Mark Keck. Batting average - Mark Keck (404 runs at 31.08).
