Summary: | xxxxxx The San Francisco Symphony concerts this coming week feature both a Beethoven Overture that might be considered a predecessor to film scores and a seldom-performed Violin Concerto by 20th-century composer Paul Hindemith. [...]considered one of the world's leading conductors of both opera and symphony, he is especially known for his interpretations of the music of Richard Wagner and Anton Bruckner. Since 2002, he has served as artistic director of the Berlin Radio Symphony. The cast, led by San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Efrain Solis as Figaro, should provide lots of fun, both for audience members who have seen this opera many times as well as for those having their first encounter with this marvelous Mozart gem. FELIX BROEDE Guest conductor Marek Janowski will lead the San Francisco Symphony through concerts of music by Beethoven, Hindemith and Brahms. |
