Summary:"All of the songs are original," explained [Scott Jantzie]. "I'll be playing live and a lot of it has big-screen visual or video accompaniment... We'll have landscape visuals going in the background that correspond with the music that we're playing. What we do is we let your mind visualize the characters and we provide the landscapes of the area in which the stories take place." While Landscape and Legends is an opportunity to satisfy his passion for storytelling and unique characters, Jantzie developed the show with a mind towards giving back to communities he has visited during his years as a journalist. As someone who grew up in nearby Vulcan with many connections to High River, Jantzie said he knew he wanted to do something to help the town rebuild after the flood. As he and his team reached the final stages of development and began planning their launch, it was friend and fellow event host Dana Zielke who suggested the library as a fitting recipient for a fundraiser."Because I kind of live in High River and was affected by the flood, we've seen everything that's happened here," said Jantzie. "I waited for the initial fundraising to die down until this year to see what really needs to be done. The smoke is starting to clear and we can see areas where people need help." As [Deb Gardiner] explained, both events will be a significant helping hand during uncertain times for the library as it navigates its path into the future."To fundraise, you really have to have a goal, but we don't really have that goal because we don't know where everything is going right now," she said. "So, we've just got to be ready to take advantage of those opportunities when they come."
