PREP CROSS-COUNTRY Pine Bluffs-Burns, South run at Gering CHEYENNE - The cross-country programs at Pine Bluffs-Burns and Cheyenne South took part in the Gering (Neb.) Invitational on Friday. The Pine Bluffs-Burns girls took third overall with 53 points while the South girls placed fifth with 92. On the boys side, Pine Bluffs-Burns took fifth with 88. The South boys did not run enough athletes to constitute a team. Pine Bluffs-Burns' Austin Asay led the way the girls, placing second overall in 21 minutes, 15 seconds. South's Ana Sanchez was just behind her, taking third in 21:24. Pine Bluffs-Burns' Celeste Morales also cracked the top five, taking fifth in 21:49. Jorge Garcia paced the boy runners, as the Pine Bluffs-Burns runner took fifth overall in 18:11. South's Andrew Miller made the top 15, placing 13th overall in 19 minutes. GERING (NEB.)
