Summary:The Ontario Varsity Football Leagie Junior Varsity Cambridge Lions capped off an impressive season this past weekend, winning the under-17 varsity championship with a convincing 58-13 thrashing of the Ottawa Myers Riders. Led by safety Mitchell Weiller (14 total tackles and three batted balls), DB's Cody Jones (five tackles, two batted balls), and Ben Cross (seven tackles, one batted ball), Klay De-gannes (two tackles, one batted ball) hauled in the only interception for the Lions with a diving grab midway through the third frame. Cambridge's O-line (with team totals of 359 rushing and 155 passing for 514 total yards offense, five rushing and two passing touchdowns) was led by Nathan Monk, Caelan Meggs, Jake Sarmazian, Griffin Quigley, Spencer Shiels, Thomas Martin and Conner Heaslip.
