Summary:  They suspect the tubby factory worker was involved in a series of previous attacks around Antrim claimed by shadowy loyalist grouping the 'Real UFF'. Included among these was a frightening incident at St Comgall's Primary School that resulted in an eight-year-old pupil picking up a pipe-bomb. A PSNI source told Sunday Life that it was no coincidence that pipe-bomb attacks in Antrim virtually stopped after Smyth's arrest. "Between April 2007 and Smyth's arrest in October 2011 there were 28 pipe-bombings, hoaxes or threats in Antrim," he said. Sources in Antrim told Sunday Life that [John Smyth Snr] is "mortified" by John Smyth Jnr's pipe-bomb conviction.
