Summary:Cu-modified MnCeO sub(x) catalysts were prepared and applied to the oxidative degradation of aqueous phenol solutions. The modification by Cu increased phenol oxidation and chemical oxygen demand removal of aqueous phenol solutions. The promotion effects of Cu were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and temperature-programmed reduction. It was found that CuMn sub(2)O sub(4) formed with the addition of Cu, which was favorable for the increase of catalytic activity.
