Summary:Whatever the type of innovation, it necessarily relies on people's abilities to imagine possible futures, to build new visions and to anticipate their execution. Researchers and practitioners admit that these tasks are particularly difficult and require the use of appropriate methods of intelligence. However, as soon as it comes to radical innovation thus entailing significant potential changes, major difficulties arise. Uncertainty, ambiguity and enhanced novelty associated with the acceleration of events tend to question the usefulness of existing methods of intelligence. In the face of discontinuity, some people state that success depends exclusively on innate visionary skills. Beyond individual knowledge, experience and networks of innovation, the main objective is to understand better to what extent these approaches of innovation and anticipation can be synergistic. Hence, in-depth observations of empirical situations allow us to track potential connections with anticipative intelligence practices. Reproduced by permission of Bibliothèque de Sciences Po
