Summary:A computer simulation of a supersonic flow CS sub(2)/O chemical laser is performed and the gain characteristics are studied. It is assumed that the flow is quasi-one-dimensional and the nozzle flow undergo instantaneous mixing at the nozzle exits. A chemical and vibrational kinetic model encompassing twenty-four chemical reactions and twenty-seven vibrational transitions is used to approximate the reacting and relaxing mixture contained within the combustor. The numerical results show that the performance of the supersonic flow CS sub(2)/O chemical laser is somewhat inferior to that of the supersonic flow CS/O sub(2) chemical laser.
