Summary: | This study presents a thorough review of the existing literature on social change & educational homogamy. Using data from a study, based upon a representative sample from Lleida province (N=1,219), this paper analyses the persistence of educational homogamy within a context of increasing school enrolment, particularly among cohorts of Spanish female students born since 1955. Beyond the controversy between homogamy & heterogamy, the authors have interpreted the results as an example of the limits to change associated with the marriage model.
