Summary:This paper describes and analyzes computer and internet usage within Arab society in Israel. The study presents and analyzes the effect of individual and cultural factors on internet usage. The analysis and comparisons deal with two areas: (1) A comparison between the Arab and Jewish sectors; (2) A comparison between different Arab subcultures and groups. The results are based on research carried out using two secondary datasets from 2004: 'Rikaz Databank', created by the socio-economic survey undertaken by the Galilee Society; and the socio-economic survey carried out by the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). The study also monitors internet usage among Israeli Jews and Arabs for the period 2002-2006, based on CBS data. The theoretical model of the study is based on Rogers' Diffusion of Innovation Theory (2003), and the Digital Divide and cultural theories of Schwartz, Inglehart and others (Inglehart, 1997; Inglehart & Baker, 2000; Schwartz, 1999; Schwartz & Bardi, 2001). The results of the analysis show a digital divide in different aspects of computer use.
