Summary: | Portland cements extended with ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) and pulverised-fuel ash (PFA) can be very useful for securing long-term durability. Special pozzolans such as microsilica (MS) - also known as condensed silica fume (CSF) - and metakaolin (MK) can be very suitable in particular applications. The latter, for example, can reduce the densities of the cement slurries where required, reduce the transition time between setting and hardening and aid the development of high early strength. |
