Summary:The non-linear relationship between displacement earth pressure indicates that the earth pressure with the displacement, which affects the analysis of retaining structures. A model, based commonly observed characteristics of earth relationship, is developed to describe the between earth pressure and displacement. The of the proposed is given in the paper. The between the literature data and the predicted from proposed model shows that the proposed model a good prediction of lateral earth pressure at small displacement. Moreover, the results that the displacement has a significant effect on pressures, which justifies the necessity of the model.
