Summary:From October Term 2007 through October Term 2023, the current term, the court has ranged from a low of one case to a high of seven cases emanating from the Federal Circuit, or an average of 3.7 per term. [...]far, only two cases have been granted to be heard in the upcoming October 2024 term, and neither of them are Federal Circuit cases (yes, a small sample size, to be sure). There is no possibility of direct appeal from the Judicial Conference committee's decision, although there is an argument that exists that as a ruling from an administrative body, it can be appealed to a U.S. District Court, presumably the same court (the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia) in which Newman's lawsuit is currently pending.
