Summary:The influence of rare-earth elements, such as cerium, lanthanum and neodymium, on the nonmetallic inclusions and microstructure of high-chromium white cast iron has been investigated. It has been demonstrated that rare-earth elements can change the nonmetallic inclusions and micro structural characteristics of white iron containing about 15% mass% Cr. The content of cerium, lanthanum and neodymium in high-chromium white iron is 0,22-0,34% mass%.
