Summary:The Battle of Konigsberg was a significant event during World War II. The German military viewed the citizens of East Prussia as a weapon rather than a concern. Konigsberg, the capital of East Prussia, was transformed into a fortress in 1944. The city received supplies and had a security garrison to defend it. However, the fortress command did not hesitate to deploy vulnerable citizens, neglecting their duty to protect the population. Many of those defending Konigsberg were not trained soldiers but still lost their lives in the battle.
