Summary: | Rapidly tunable polarization independent optical add drop multiplexer in Ti:LiNbO sub(3) was demonstrated. Electro-optic tuning of the centre wavelength over a range of 20 nm with an RC-limited rise time of 44 ns was demonstrated. Results showed that increasing the length of the polarization conversion/tuning region and apodisation of the polarization-converting strain pads can be used to achieve narrower channel bandwidth and higher sidelobe suppression. |
