Formation of high-T sub(c) superconducting phases in Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O glass-ceramics

Phases Bi sub(2)Sr sub(2)CaCu sub(2)O sub(x)(2212) and Bi sub(2)Sr sub(2)Ca sub(2)Cu sub(3)O sub(x)(2223) were grown by a crystallization of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O glass. The crystallization was carried out between 820 degree C and 879 degree C. Both normal and superconducting properties were influenced...

Summary:Phases Bi sub(2)Sr sub(2)CaCu sub(2)O sub(x)(2212) and Bi sub(2)Sr sub(2)Ca sub(2)Cu sub(3)O sub(x)(2223) were grown by a crystallization of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O glass. The crystallization was carried out between 820 degree C and 879 degree C. Both normal and superconducting properties were influenced by the conditions of crystallization. Very short annealing time was sufficient to obtain superconducting phases. Appearance of 2223 phase as a result of only a few minutes' annealing been observed.
