Summary:The reconstruction behavior of Mg-Fe-CO sub(3) hydrotalcite-like compounds (HTlcs), inclusive of the calcination and rehydration cycles, was analyzed. The initial Mg-Fe-CO sub(3) HTlcs were prepared by the coprecipitation method. Spinel was detected as a second phase during repetitive calcination and rehydration of Mg-Fe-CO sub(3). The amount of MgFe sub(2)O sub(4) spinel increased with repetitions of the calcination and rehydration cycle.
