Summary:The possibility of Cu segregation into the secondary phase of (Sb, Cu)-doped Ba sub(0.9)Sr sub(0.1)Ti sub(1.025)O sub(3) was verified by the chemical analysis of the etchant after chemical etching of the polished ceramic sample surface, using the atomic absorption spectrometry method (AAS) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis of the polished ceramic sample surface. Regular grinding scratches can be seen on the etched sample surface, which are only weakly visible on the polished sample surface. This is evidence for uniform etching over the whole sample surface. Secondary phases were almost completely etched, and grain boundaries lying under etched secondary phases are visible.
