Summary:The La sub(0.7)Sr sub(0.3)MnO sub(3) (LSMO) film is deposited successfully onto a MgO (001) substrate by using a magnetron DC sputtering system. The theta -2 theta X-ray diffraction pattern is detected to investigate the structure of the deposited LSMO film. According to the experimental temperature dependent magnetization result, the Curie temperature of the sample is 364.8K. The magnetic hysteresis curve with a coercivity of 17Oe was found for the LSMO film at 300K, meanwhile, a significant magnetoresistance was observed. With these properties at room temperature, the LSMO-based devices might be very suitable for practical applications. copyright 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
