Summary:The article considers Pedersen's damage model and the experimental-numerical determination of the material parameters for various states of bearing ring material 42CrMo4 (ISO 683/1). The model allows an evaluation of elastic and plastic strain and stress distributions as a function of the number of loading cycles. The model includes isotropic and kinematic hardening or softening and the evolution of damage with the number of cycles. The damage model is implemented into a finite-element code, which has been assessed with respect to results of an experimental test.
