Invar behavior of Laves phase C14 Ti sub x Fe sub 100-x alloys

Polycrystalline Ti sub x Fe sub 100-x alloys (30 < =x < =35 at.%) show Invar-like behavior in the thermal expansion, originating from the volume instability of the Fe-moments. This is explained on the basis of band calculations similar to those for FeNi Invar.
