Summary:Looking around at a number of publications and Internet sites, I found several circuit ideas that seemingly could be fashioned into a complete receiver design accessible to the average ham - one that could be built up from easy-to-get components and use only freely available software. Output transformer T1 steps the 1500 ohm balanced output impedance of the mixer chip down to 50 ohm, which is a good input match for most communications receivers.
