Summary:A numerical model is developed to calculate the wave exciting forces and the hydrodynamic efficiency of the pneumatic type wave power generators. The model is applicable to both the floating and stationary types of generators. The wave exciting forces and moments, and hydrodynamic coefficients are determined using the boundary-element integral equation technique based on the 3D Wehausen-Laitone shallow water Green function. The main hull of the device and the internal water surface below the air chamber are treated as a two- body system. The pressure fluctuations in the air camber are governed by the incident waves as well as the radiation interaction between the hull and the internal water surface. Applications are made for the prediction of wave forces, motions and hydrodynamic efficiency f
