Summary:The aim of this work is to construct a viscodamage model in order to describe the dynamic behaviour of concrete. The identification is obtained from compression tests made with Hopkinson's bars for a range of strain rate going up to 700 s"\ We show that it is necessary to take into account a dependent strain rate model and both traction and compression parts of the behaviour of concrete to identify its parameters. Moreover a complete numerical simulation of the experiments on a sample must be done to obtain certain values of the model coefficients. 1 Introduction Rate dependent constitutive relations are very important to take into account in analyses of concrete in transient dynamics with high strain rates such as blast
