Summary:A two-dimensional numerical model is performed to calculate the transient temperature 7X/",0,f) of a rotating cylinder subject to heat flux and surface cooling. The cylinder is covered by a thin film of a different material. The finite volume method and ADI scheme are used to solve the governing equations. The influence of mesh size and time step is studied in order to reduce the computation time while obtaining accurate results.
