Summary: | [Nicholas White] plays with very intense but natural rhythm and vitality, which amplify his communicativeness in almost everything here. The Passacaglia begins ff, but in variation 3 already drops back to a lower terrace of volume, and most of the middle section is done on quieter registers. Variations 16-20 are again ff.
