Summary: | Spending money requires careful decision-making. Whenever the author is not sure what to do, he consults his management team at Nimbus Co. So, recently, he asked them to explore one or two strategic equipment. VP Kernel suggested they look at new applications for their kitchen-appliance technology. Scanelli, director of customer alliances, suggested they invest in an underperforming product line. The last petitioner was Wirtz, the foreman. He stunned the team with a PowerPoint presentation urging them to move into services. That made so much sense, it scared the hell out of them -- so they avoided it. The author then realized while strategic thinking is vital, people who can just think are best of all. |
