Summary: | I am extremely grateful for the mentorship and support that AAHHE has provided me. The conference was not only a place of comfort as I was surrounded by likeminded people, but it was rejuvenating to see other Latina/o leaders in their fields reach out to the younger population of Latinas/os. AAHHE allowed me to be a part of a larger organization that believes in advancing the educational disparities amongst Latinas/os. After participating in the AAHHE Graduate Fellows Program, I left with a reaffirming sense of claro que sise puede and with a lot more ganas to complete my Ph.D. so that I can move into academia as a sociology professor and have a positive impact on Latina/o students. |
