Effect of Bacillus cereus PAS38 and mannosan preparation on immunoreactive cells of somatostatin and 5-HT in small intestine of rabbit

Sixty male weaned rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: control group was fed the basic diet; PAS38 group was fed diet supplemented with 0.1% B. cereus PAS38; mannosan group was fed diet supplemented with 0.2% mannosan; and mix group was fed diet supplemented with 0.1% B. cereus PAS38 and...

Summary:Sixty male weaned rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: control group was fed the basic diet; PAS38 group was fed diet supplemented with 0.1% B. cereus PAS38; mannosan group was fed diet supplemented with 0.2% mannosan; and mix group was fed diet supplemented with 0.1% B. cereus PAS38 and 0. 2% mannosan. Immunohistochemistry SABC was used to measure 5-HT and somatostatin (SS) of immunoreactive cells and the expression in small intestine of rabbit on the 15, 30 and 45th day. The results show that the additive of PAS38 or b-mannan could decrease the number of immunoreactive cells of SS and the expression of SS, and increase the number of immunoreactive cells of 5-HT and the expression of 5-HT in small intestine of rabbit. United application of two kinds of additives showed obviously efficacious (P<0. 05 or P<0. 01), compared with control group. The results above indicated that combined application of B. cereus PAS38 and b-mannan preparation could achieve good synergistic effect on modulating intestina
