Summary: | The exhibition "Ralph Albert Blakelock (1847-1919) : the great mad genius returns" will be held at the Questroyal Fine Art in New York City until December 10, 2016. Blakelock began devoting himself to painting full time in 1866 and exhibited a year later. He traveled alone through the United States and was most influenced by his time with the American Indians. In the 1880s, Blakelock focused on moonlight scenes and developed his use of color. His life ended in a mental hospital, gaining more popularity through sales of his works. |
