Ta sub(5)GeB sub(2): New T sub(2) superconductor phase

We report superconductivity at T sub(C) similar to 3.8 K in the new ternary phase Ta sub(5)GeB sub(2). Bulk superconductivity is confirmed by magnetization, electrical resistivity and heat capacity measurements, the results showing conventional bulk superconductivity. Ta sub(5)GeB sub(2) is a furthe...

Summary:We report superconductivity at T sub(C) similar to 3.8 K in the new ternary phase Ta sub(5)GeB sub(2). Bulk superconductivity is confirmed by magnetization, electrical resistivity and heat capacity measurements, the results showing conventional bulk superconductivity. Ta sub(5)GeB sub(2) is a further example of a stoichiometric T sub(2) phase with Cr sub(5)B sub(3) prototype structure.
