Summary:A machine was design and developed to place the inorganics, organics and soil amendments in subsoil. A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of this machine on physical and chemical properties of soil at different depths under mustard crop (var Kranti). A total of seven different treatments were laid out at the experimental site in randomized block design with three replications each. Significantly minimum dry soil bulk density was found in treatment T sub(6), which was found lower by 4.61 % and 13.41% for 100-200 and 200-300 mm depth, respectively as compared to control (T sub(1)). However, treatment T sub(7) resulted the minimum dry bulk density which was lower by 15.57% for 300-400 mm depth as compared to Control at harvest. The maximum value of available nitrogen of 526.85 kg/ha was found in Control treatment for the depth of 0-100 mm, however, it was found higher by 38.49, 13.33 and 55.56% in treatments T sub(7), T sub(6), and T sub(5), as compared to Control for 100-200, 200-300 and 300-400 mm depths, respectively. In case of available phosphorus, the maximum value was found in treatment T sub(4), T sub(5) and T sub(7) for 0-100 mm and 100-200 mm, 200-300 mm and 300-400 mm which was found higher by 9.83, 36.50, 80.31 and 311.27%, respectively as compared to Control. However, the maximum available potassium was found in treatments T sub(5), T sub(7) for 0-100 mm, and 100-200 mm, 200-300 mm and 300-400 mm which was found higher by 5.69 and 112.5, 121.43 and 216.66% respectively as compared to control treatment (T sub(1)).
