Summary:The investigation was carried out with sixty chrysanthemum genotypes to study the genetic diversity among the genotypes, which were grouped into ten clusters showing the existence of considerable amount of variation in the materials. Cluster pattern revealed that, cluster IX had largest number of 12 cultivars, followed by cluster X (11 cultivars), cluster VII (9 cultivars) and cluster IV and V (7 cultivars each). Maximum differences among the genotypes within the same cluster were shown by cluster IX (52.82) followed by cluster VIII (52.67), cluster VII (38.85), cluster X (22.25), cluster II (20.34), cluster III (18.45), cluster I ( 17.54) and cluster VI (15.88). Cluster IX and X showed maximum inter cluster distance of 64.06 followed by that between clusters III and X (62.46) indicating that the genotypes included in these clusters will give high heterotic response and thus will give better segregants.
