Summary:La sub(0.8)Sr sub(0.2)Ga sub(0.8)Mg sub(0.2-x)Co sub(x)O sub(3- delta ) (LSGMC x=0.05, 0.085 and 0.1) electrolyte materials were synthesized by a glycine nitrate process (GNP) and a solid state reaction (SSR). LSGMC electrolyte materials can form a very stable structure with perosvkite phase according to calculation of tolerance factor and average electronegtivity difference. Oxygen nonstoichiometric values of LSGMC increase with increasing of doping Co amount, showing that the adsorption oxygen in LSGMC material lattice enhances when the doping Co amount reduces. SSR can acquire denser LSGMC materials than GNP, while GNP can get narrower particle size distribution than SSR. Excellent conductivity of LSGMC materials with 0.217 S/cm at 800 degree C, and 0.193 S/cm at 750 degree C is obtained.
