Summary: | A field experiment was conducted during summer season of 2010 and 2011 to study the effect of polythene mulching, irrigation regimes and fertilizer doses on summer groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) nodulation, pod yield and nitrogen availability in soil. The result showed that nodule nos and pod yield of groundnut increased with polythene mulching (M sub(1)) as compared to without mulching (M sub(0)) during both the years and pooled analysis. Polythene mulch also increased nitrogen availability in the soil. Irrigation scheduling at IW: CPE ratio 1.0 i.e.I sub(1) received more quantity of irrigation water exhibited higher nodule nos pod yield and nitrogen availability as compared to the treatment received less quantity of irrigation water i.e.I sub(2)W: CPE ratio of 0.8) and I sub(3) (IW: CPE ratio of 0.6). Increasing level of fertilizer dose upto 100% RDF along with biofertilizer consortium had the significant response to increase nodule nos., soil nitrogen availability and pod yield. |
